Two weeks without a compressor will do strange things to a man and mine breaking down could not have come at a worse time. I have a battle group to paint and a group build project to start on, not to mention painting being something I look forward to everyday. Luckily for me painting is not the only part of the plamo hobby and modification takes much longer. This is the first build to which I can say I am applying advanced techniques and rest assured for every thing that goes right five things go wrong. Reader beware: Plastic gore ahead. Some basic pla plating to start off. The original design for the rear waist plate had an asymmetric plating. Which got scrapped pretty quickly in favor of a vent detail. Close up of the vent. 5 plates spaced with styrene scraps. Legs have been completely gutted and converted to a reverse joint style. Much more deatiling will be required. Another batch of practice miniatures. This time focusing mostly on basing.  First up Bones Minotaur Demon Lord: One of the larger multi part figures.  I opted for "beasty" brown tones with a splash of red and a few silver highlights to liven him up a bit. Next Bones Forest Spirit: I'm probably paraphrasing the name of the figure but you get the idea. Base coated in tamiya brown and built up layers of dry brush colors. I forgot to take a pic of him the day of the show but this was my first place wargaming figure! Bones Iconic Paladin: Painted up as a DnD game piece. The color scheme is an homage to my WoW main. Shiny bits are alclad chrome. Bones Iconic Druid: Another game piece and one of the smallest figures i've painted. Tried something new with colored eyes which seems to have gone pretty well. It feels like spring was just yesterday but here we are. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and the sun goes down earlier every day.  This can only mean one thing, More prizes to win! I'm happy to say I took home two first places this year. One for 1/144 scale Gundam and one for Wargaming miniature. I stepped outside my comfort zone for both these projects in painting and in basing, a skill that is very new to me. Expect to see much more real armor and military plamo inspired paint jobs from me in the future.   Thanks to everyone who came out to support local modelers and enjoy the pics!
