From the backlog: More minis!

Another batch of practice miniatures. This time focusing mostly on basing. 



First up Bones Minotaur Demon Lord:
One of the larger multi part figures.  I opted for "beasty" brown tones with a splash of red and a few silver highlights to liven him up a bit.












Next Bones Forest Spirit:
I'm probably paraphrasing the name of the figure but you get the idea. Base coated in tamiya brown and built up layers of dry brush colors.
I forgot to take a pic of him the day of the show but this was my first place wargaming figure!














Bones Iconic Paladin:
Painted up as a DnD game piece. The color scheme is an homage to my WoW main. Shiny bits are alclad chrome.










Bones Iconic Druid:
Another game piece and one of the smallest figures i've painted. Tried something new with colored eyes which seems to have gone pretty well.









Privateer Press Baldur the Stonesoul:

Last but not least some love for circle. This figure was way too much fun to paint with all his stitching and runes.

From the Backlog: You got Katoki'd

This kit has been looming in the background of my WiP's for almost a year. Katoki's redesign of The Okawara classic Wing Gundam. Not sure what sense that makes but hey it's Bandai so it doesn't really need to. I've wanted to do a Wing series kit for a while now mostly because it was my gateway into the world of Gundam. Every afternoon at 4:30 my eyes were glued to the tv screen in want of glorious mecha combat. Despite having a poor narrative and a ridiculous amount of recycled stock animation 8 year old me was in love. So, what's the verdict on this kit? Not great unfortunately. The frame is decent enough if a bit skinny but the redesigned rifle does nothing for me. The proportions are strange too making it look more like a giant power ranger than a combat mech. My unique take on the MG Barbatos. This color scheme was a wild departure from my usual choices.
